Spitfires Down Rangers 6-2

The Windsor Spitfires scored a 6-2 victory over the Kitchener Rangers in OHL action on Friday.

Cristiano DiGiacinto kicked things off for Windsor with a goal one minute into the game. Adam Laishram follow with a goal after 12:51 to make it 2-0 for the Spitfires going into the second.

Luke Boka, Jeremy Bracco, Cole Purboo and Gabriel Vilardi all scored back-to-back goals in the second frame to give London a 6-0 advantage. The Rangers finally made it on the board with two goals in the third, but they weren't able to catch up to Windsor before the buzzer.

Windsor goaltender Michael DiPietro made 33 saves out of 35 shots on net.

The Spitfires will take on the Attack next on Saturday. The puck drops in Owen Sound at 7:30pm.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
