ERCA Flood Outlook

With heavy rain expected Tuesday, the Essex Region Conservation Authority is concerned about the potential for flooding.

It says frozen ground and a thin snow cover could create pools of water in low lying areas throughout the region, especially near major waterways and shorelines.

Residents living near waterways that dump into Lake St. Clair could also see "ice bridging" at bridge and culverts, because of the effect the rain will have on local water flow.

Up to 24 mm of rainfall is expected throughout the day on Tuesday.

ERCA is also asking residents living in low lying areas to inspect their property for catch basins and make sure they're clear of debris before the rain hits.
