Charges Pending Following Fatal Crash

Charges are pending after a 19-year-old woman was killed in a four-vehicle crash on Hwy. 401 in Windsor.

Police say on Tuesday around 4pm, three tractor trailers and an SUV collided in a tunnel on the 401, just east of the link to the Herb Gray Pkwy.

An OPP investigation revealed that a tractor trailer travelling west struck the SUV, which was stopped on the highway in traffic. The two other tractor trailers were struck as a result of the initial impact.

Windsor woman Nicole Vetor was the lone occupant of the SUV and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The westbound lanes of Hwy. 401 at Exit 7 were shut down for several hours while police investigated the crash. The highway was reopened around midnight.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
