UPDATE: Charges Laid In Windsor Home Invasion

Two men from the Toronto area are in police custody after a home invasion on Jefferson Blvd. at S. National St. in Windsor.

Officers were called to the area on Thursday around 2:15am, after someone in the neighbourhood reported a suspicious vehicle, which two men got out of wearing ski masks.

The driver of the vehicle was soon arrested and police learned that a nearby home had been broken into.

Police say the suspects had fled the area, but not before allegedly assaulting the 54-year-old victim of the break-in. He was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Officers on patrol were eventually able to track down two men who were running from the area.

A 29 and 21-year-old face a total of 11 charges, including robbery, assault and break and enter.

The driver of the suspicious vehicle was released.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
