Leamington Hospital's Alleged iPad Thief Busted

Officials at the Leamington District Memorial Hospital say police have arrested a suspect after someone stole three iPads from a waiting lounge.

The hospital went public Thursday after two brazen thefts this week.

One iPad was stolen Monday night, but Environmental Services Manager Jason Keane told BlackburnNews.com the thief returned Wednesday night to take two more.

"He came in and helped himself to a free coffee, and then sat down and stole the iPads," said Keane Thursday.

The hospital issued a statement Friday to say it received tips from the public which led to the capture of the suspect.

Although the iPads have not turned up, local organizations have generously offered to replace them.

The Ontario Provincial Police say a 35-year-old Leamington man faces two counts of theft under $5,000.
