Spitfires Outplay Generals 7-1

The Windsor Spitfires crushed the Oshawa Generals 7-1 at the WFCU Centre on Thursday.

The Generals took a 1-0 lead with a goal 8:51 into the first period, but Cristiano DiGiacinto was able to tie things up for Windsor with a goal less than two minutes later. Adam Laishram, Jeremiah Addison and Sean Day scored back-to-back goals to give Windsor a 4-1 lead going into the second.

Aaron Luchuk kicked off the second frame for the Spitfires with a goal just over three minutes in, and Addison followed with his second goal of the night.

Mikhail Sergachev scored the seventh goal for the Spitfires late in the third. Neither team scored in the third period, ending the game with a six point advantage for Windsor.

Windsor goaltender Michael DiPietro made 26 saves out of 27 shots on net.

The Spitfires are in Hamilton on Saturday to battle the Bulldogs at 7pm.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
