High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

Police are searching for a suspect who robbed a pharmacy at gunpoint in Tecumseh.
On Wednesday at around 7:45pm, the OPP were called to the IDA pharmacy on Tecumseh Rd., after a man entered the building, displayed a handgun and demanded narcotics from staff. He fled the scene and was last seen heading west.
The suspect is described as a white adult male, and approximately 5'8" tall. He was last seen wearing a two tone grey jacket with blue jeans.
Anyone with information is asked to call Essex County OPP at 519-723-2491 or Crime Stoppers.
