Search Warrants Carried Out After Shooting In Leamington

A 31-year-old man faces a long list of charges in connection with a shooting in Leamington.

The Ontario Provincial Police say a 29-year-old man arrived at Leamington District Memorial Hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg around 10pm Sunday.

Early Tuesday morning, members of the OPP Major Crime Unit, Tactics and Rescue Unit, Emergency Response Team and Street Crime Unit searched homes on Erie St. S and Montgomery St.

The 31-year-old suspect was arrested at one of the home and now faces 11 charges, including assault with a weapon, possession of a prohibited weapon, uttering death threats and failing to comply with probation orders.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
