Rooftop Chase Leads To Arrest

Two men have been arrested after a rooftop chase with Windsor police early Friday morning.

Police were called to an apartment in the 500-block of Pitt St. around 5am after tenant reported that people were trying to force their way into his apartment. Police received information on route that the men fled down the fire escape.

Officers observed the two men climbing up the fire escape and followed. One man was arrested and the other jumped to an adjacent building rooftop. The Windsor Fire and Rescue Service was contacted and officers used the fire truck lift to get onto the rooftop. The second man was then arrested and officers also seized a loaded handgun that was found on the rooftop.

A 22-year-old and a 20-year-old, both from Windsor, are facing multiple charges including possession of a loaded firearm, assault with a weapon, and break and enter.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
