Windsor Couple To Leave $500K To Hospital

"This is actually one of the biggest non-capital investments that anybody has ever seen," says Erika Colovic, the communications coordinator at Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare.

The hospital is celebrating a $500,000 planned donation from Windsor business couple, Barry and Karen Fowler of Fowler Financial.

The donation will be made when the Fowlers pass away. At that time, it will be invested into the new Changing Lives Together Foundation at Hotel-Dieu.

Colovic says the money is not earmarked for anything specific yet.

"They haven't put this specific amount of money into anything specific, so it will go at that time to whatever is in most need," she says.

The foundation emerged shortly after hospital realignment in 2016, as a way to raise funds for equipment, supplies and programs for the hospital's non-acute services.

Colovic says those wishing to make a donation to the hospital after they die should speak with their financial adviser.
