Week Long Celebration For Windsor Police 150

A week-long celebration is planned to honour the Windsor Police Service's 150th birthday.

Windsor police, along with the community, will host events throughout the first week of May including a large police parade on Tuesday May 2.

Windsor police also hope to dedicate an overpass near St. Clair College the John Atkinson Overpass on May 5, 2017. The day will be the 11th anniversary of Atkinson's murder.

The Art Gallery of Windsor will be hosting a historical exhibit which will run for two months from May 1- June 30. Anyone with photos or any other Windsor police memorabilia that they would like to share are asked to contact Windsor police.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
