Downtown Mission Moves Closer To Goal

With only some of the donations received, the Downtown Mission in Windsor says it has reached 66% of its goal for this year's Coldest Night of the Year walk.

The walk Saturday night drew 31 teams. A total of 151 people registered to take part.

According to the mission's website, a total of $26,409 has been collected so far, towards their goal of $40,000.

Last year, the event raised enough money to provide 265,000 meals and 14,600 safe night accommodations.

The event is held every year in communities across Canada. This year, 113 cities and towns took part.
