UPDATE: Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck By Vehicle

One person has died after being struck by a vehicle in the east end of Windsor.

The Windsor Police Service says on Wednesday around 8:20pm, officers were called after a man was hit by a van on Lauzon Rd. near McHugh St.

Police have now confirmed that the 51-year-old Windsor man has died from his injuries.  His name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

Lauzon Rd. was closed at McHugh St. for several hours to allow police to conduct an investigation.  It re-opened after midnight.

At this time, police do not believe any charges will be laid in relation to the fatal collision.
