Consultant Told To Keep Main Library Branch On Ouellette

Some people, giving their input at a session on the future of Windsor Public Library's main branch, say they like the Ouellette Ave. location and space.

They also like the friendly staff, the lighting and the building's architecture.

However, the crowd put forth some improvements like better acoustics and a speaker's space, along with free and secure parking, sculptures, outdoor seating and a welcoming and safe entrance.

Stan Cunningham says the main branch should not go anywhere else.

"When this thing opened up, I was delighted. I love this location, you can't beat it. There's space, there's light," says Cunningham.

About 30 people attended the meeting Wednesday night.

There's an online survey www.windsorpubliclibrary.com if anyone wants to have their say about the future of Windsor's main library branch.

A report is set to go before the Windsor Public Library Board in November.
