Warning After Drone Annoys Neighbour

The police in LaSalle is reminding residents to respect their neighbours' privacy after officers received a complaint about a drone.

Police say the drone was flying on Reaume Rd. between Carnegie St. and Mayfair Ave. Monday afternoon. It hovered in the backyard of a home several times for up to 15 minutes at a time.

Police are asking the operator of the drone to stop immediately.

Transport Canada has a list of rules for drone operators including staying further than 75 m away from buildings. The agency also recommends operators keep their drone within sight at all times and avoid flying it over private property. Anyone caught not following the regulations could result in a $3,000 fine.
