Downtown Apartment Assault Investigation Continues

The Windsor Police Service is searching for two suspects after an assault in a downtown apartment building lobby.

Police say a man and woman were trying to get into a building on Ouellette Ave., between Erie St. and Elliott St., around 10pm Sunday, and a number of people were trying to prevent that from happening.

During the struggle, the man supposedly shot what police believe to be bear spray at a woman. A security officer at the building then came to help and was also assaulted by one of the suspects.

The pair then left the scene.

Both victims suffered minor injuries during the incident.

The first suspect is described as a white man in his 40s, standing at 5'7'' and thin. Police say he has a shaved head with a goatee, and was last seen wearing a black long sleeve windbreaker, white pants, and white running shoes.

The other suspect is a white woman in her 30s, about 5'2'' with a medium build, long black hair with a neck tattoo, and was wearing a beige t-shirt, blue jeans and sandals.

Police continue to investigate the assault.
