Fatal Crash Shuts Down Amherstburg Streets

The Amherstburg Police Service is investigating a fatal crash at the intersection of Simcoe St. and Meloche Rd.

Simcoe St. had been closed between Richmond St. and the 4th Concession, while Meloche was shut down between Alma St. and Lowes Side Rd. just after 8am Tuesday.

Police say the intersection is now completely reopened to traffic.

Investigators say one person died in the crash while a second person was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
