UPDATE: Fire In Walkerville Out

An apartment fire on Chilver Rd. just north of Assumption St. is out, as Windsor Fire and Rescue Services says it is doing its final check for hot spots.

The Windsor Police Service first reported the blaze just after 1:30pm, Friday, and quickly closed Chilver Rd. at Assumption St.  Windsor Fire says the fire spread to the eaves of the building but the fire was put out soon after.

No injuries have been reported but seven people have been displaced.

Fire officials say the blaze caused damage to two units, resulting in about $115,000 worth of damages.

Windsor Fire had an investigator on the scene late Friday afternoon. A cause has yet to be determined.

Chilver Rd at Assumption was reopened to traffic shortly after 7pm.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
