UPDATE: Motorcyclist Seriously Injured After Hitting Wild Turkey

The Ontario Provincial Police say the driver of a motorcycle who suffered life threatening injuries in a crash on Hwy. 3 hit a wild turkey and lost control.

The crash happened around 7:30am on Tuesday, shutting down the highway between Sexton Side Rd. and Walker Rd. The OPP say the road has since reopened to traffic.

The BMW motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Hwy. 3 when it hit the wild turkey and struck a tractor-trailer travelling westbound in the oncoming lane.

The driver of the tractor-trailer is not hurt.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
