OPP Identify Man Charged With Attempted Murder

The Ontario Provincial Police is still trying to figure out what happened, but it has released the name of an attempted murder suspect after an incident in Leamington.

Police say 32-year-old Nathan Horatio Mitchell of Windsor appeared in a Windsor courtroom Monday. He has been remanded in custody.

The OPP was called to a home on Plumbrook Dr. near Oak St. around 3am Easter Sunday where a 42-year-old man suffered life threatening injuries.

The victim's name has not been released, and police have not said what kind of injuries he sustained, but reports suggest a machete was involved.

Officers spent nearly 15 hours on the scene that day, but say they are still investigating.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
