UPDATE: Criminal Charges Pending In Violent Hwy. 3 Crash

The Ontario Provincial Police say two of the four people critically injured in a violent crash on Hwy. 3 are in custody pending a criminal investigation.

Constable Jim Root did not elaborate since the investigation is ongoing, but a release from police says the two suspects were in the same vehicle. He hopes to release more information soon.

A blue Lexus and a black Volkswagen crashed head-on east of Walker Rd. around 9:15am Wednesday morning. Four people were rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Previously, BlackburnNews.com reported the collision involved three vehicles.

Police have since reopened the road between Oldcastle Rd. and Sexton Side Rd.

The crash  is the second on that stretch of Hwy. 3 in the past week.

Kevin Gagnier, 54, of Kingsville died after a wild turkey ran into his motorcycle, and he subsequently collided with a tractor-trailer on April 18.
