Flood Watch Issued

A flood watch is in effect for Windsor-Essex until Saturday morning.

The Essex Region Conservation Authority (ERCA) says heavy rain totaling up to 55 mm on Thursday and Friday could flood some areas throughout the region

ERCA says low lying areas around major waterways are especially at risk of flooding.

The conservation authority also says strong winds on Thursday could produce damaging waves along Lake Erie, the east side of Pelee Island, and south east Leamington between Wheatley Harbour and Point Pelee.

ERCA also warns people to stay away from fasting flowing water.

The flood watch ends Saturday at 9am.
