Flooding Possible Thursday

The Essex Region Conservation Authority is advising homeowners to check their properties before rain continues Thursday.

Conservation officials say the sunny and dry day Wednesday could provide some relief and help the ground dry up a bit, but the ground is so full of water that any amount of rainfall could cause flooding in the region.

They are advising homeowners to take a closer look at all drainage outlets to make sure they are functioning properly and are not blocked by debris.

Environment Canada is forecasting heavy rainfall over the next two days.

ERCA will be monitoring local conditions and will provide an update on the watershed conditions by 4pm this afternoon.
