Driver Charged In February Fatal Crash

The driver of a tractor trailer involved in a fatal collision on Hwy. 401 in February has now been charged.

On February 7, 2017, three tractor trailers and an SUV collided in a tunnel on the 401, just east of the link to the Herb Gray Pkwy. According to the initial investigation, one of the tractor trailers travelling west struck the SUV, which was stopped on the highway in traffic. The two other tractor trailers were struck as a result of the initial impact.

Dinesh Kumar, 30, of Mississauga is now charged with careless driving.

The crash took the life of 19-year-old Nicole Vetor of Windsor, who was the lone occupant in the SUV.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
