The province is investing another $551,419 at Erie Shores Health Care to cut wait times and expand services.
The hospital recently changed its name from Leamington District Memorial Hospital.
It is part of a 3.1% increase in funding proposed in the 2017 provincial budget.
The extra cash is expected to make cardiac services, critical care, organ/tissue donations and transplants, care for rare diseases and bariatric services more accessible. It should also cut wait times for chemotherapy, stroke treatments, and hip and knee replacements.
"The Erie St. Clair LHIN welcomes these additional resources for our local hospitals," says Ralph Ganter, the CEO of the Erie St. Clair Local Health Integrated Network.
All of Ontario's hospitals can expect at least a 2% increase in their base funding. The province has increased hospital operating funding dollars to $18-billion in its latest budget.
