ERCA Issues Flood Watch

The Essex Region Conservation Authority is once again issuing a flood watch for residents along the shoreline due to high winds.

Southwest winds of 30-40 km/h are in the forecast with potential gusts of up to 70 km/h. This could cause erosion and flooding for residents along the shoreline, especially in the east limit of the Town of Essex, the Town of Kingsville, and the western portions of the Municipality of Leamington.

People should take extra caution and avoid shoreline areas. Waves overtopping breakwalls/shorelines can be extremely dangerous.

The watch is in effect until 9am on Friday.
