A fire in an upper apartment at 1519 Wyandotte St. E in Windsor forced traffic to detour through residential streets in Walkerville.
The fire was reported just before 5:30pm Saturday at the building that houses Monarch Mattress on Wyandotte between Gladstone Ave. and Lincoln Rd. Windsor Fire and Rescue Services says the building is vacant and undergoing renovations.
The fire started on the rear porch of the building and spread to two apartments. It was under control within an hour, but caused $80,000 damage. The cause is listed as undetermined and no one was hurt.
