Family Hires Lawyer After Teen Struck By Vehicle

The family of a Leamington teen who died after he was struck by a vehicle earlier this month has hired a lawyer.

Morgan Harder, 18, was crossing at a crosswalk near Erie St. S and Oak St. W on his way to work at Highbury Canco the afternoon of May 15, when he was hit by the vehicle. Harder was rushed to hospital but died of his injuries the next day.

The family has hired Dina Mejalli, a partner of Greg Monforton and Partners in Windsor.

Speaking for the Harder family, Mejalli says, "we have been asked by the family to help them understand what happened and why it happened. We are investigating this tragedy and are looking for anyone who either witnessed the collision or were there in the aftermath."

Anyone who can help with the investigation is asked to call Mejalli at 519-258-6490.

The Ontario Provincial Police are investigating the incident, but say they do not anticipate laying charges.
