Man Charged In Fatal Hit And Run

A 56-year-old man is facing multiple charges stemming from a hit and run collision that killed a 3-year-old boy on Monday.

Kenneth Dawson was arrested Tuesday and charged with failure to stop at the scene of an collision causing death and criminal negligence causing death.

Police say the boy was struck by a van on Wyandotte St. and Bruce Ave. around 8:40pm Monday. The driver of the vehicle then fled the scene.

The child was rushed to the hospital where he died from his injuries later that night.

Windsor police say they were able to identify the suspect after many members of the public called in with tips, following the release of a photo of the suspect vehicle. The vehicle was found in the 900-block of Tecumseh Rd. W.
