Media City Film Festival Announces Lineup

This year's Media City Film Festival will showcase films from around the world, including Sri Lanka, Iran, Brazil and Germany.

More than 60 films are in the lineup August 2 to 5.

The 22nd edition of the event is dedicated to the memory of experimental American filmmaker Peter Hutton. The Detroit native died last June. One of his films is included in this year's lineup.

The event opens at 8pm August 2 at the Detroit Film Theatre at the Detroit Institute of Arts with a rare screening of peace activist and artist Yoko Ono's films. US-Canadian violinist and composer Malcolm Goldstein will also perform a unique program of music dedicated to civil rights activist Rosa Parks.

Films will also be screened at the Capitol Theatre in downtown Windsor.
