House Of Sophrosyne Gets Another Boost

The House of Sophrosyne's fundraising campaign for renovations at its new location has received another boost, this time from the LaSalle Police Youth Foundation.

The Foundation's recent Charity Classic Golf Tournament raised $20,000 for the shelter that helps women with addictions.

The shelter is trying to raise $3.5-million to renovate the former St. Alexander Catholic Elementary School on Adstoll Ave. in Windsor. The new facility will mean shorter wait times for women living with substance addictions, increase capacity at its day and evening programs, and increase beds.

So far, the Building for Recovery Campaign has raised $1-million.

Since 2002, the annual Charity Classic has raised more than $250,000 for programs and activities in and around LaSalle.
