The Town of Essex has created a new website to attract tourists.
“Our goal was to highlight the things that make us unique," says Laurie Brett, manager of communications. "Like our position on the 42nd parallel, and also to showcase the best we have to offer, like our wineries, lake-front, cycling trails, and heritage landmarks."
The website, called "TourismEssex.ca", suggests itineraries, and includes directories for festivals, attractions, and places to stay.
The town will also host a workshop for businesses that want to be included on the website.
“We’ve established a set of standards that tourism-related businesses need to achieve and maintain in order to be included in the directory. Many local businesses, including our wineries, are already well positioned and impressively market ready," says Nelson Silveira, economic development officer.
The website is available on all devices and is accessible for people who are visually impaired.
