Campaign To Help Family Of Kingsville Man Who Drowned

A Harrow man has set up a GoFundMe campaign for the family of a Kingsville man who drowned in Lake Erie earlier this week.

The Ontario Provincial Police reported say 41-year-old Tyson Koehn was in a small boat with his children near Cedar Island Tuesday afternoon when his 7-year-old son had trouble swimming. Koehn went into the water to help, but began to struggle himself and drowned.

Passing boaters and a man who swam out from the beach rescued the children.

Koehn's body was found a short time later in the water by rescue crews.

Bruce Goosen's campaign has collected $9,820 in less than 24 hours. The money will help Koehn's wife, Shana, and his children, Tianna, Tami, Nicki, Jalen, and Trenton.

"[Koehn] was an excellent father and was the provider for his family. They depended on his hard work to provide them with a living," according to the campaign. "Shana and the children are quite devastated, and unsure of what the future holds for them now."
