It's Kylie Masse Day In LaSalle

The Town of LaSalle is honouring one of its own -- Olympic medallist and world record holder Kylie Masse.

The town is holding a public event and ceremony at the LaSalle Outdoor Pool on Front Rd.

The event gets underway at 4pm and runs until 7pm Friday.

Residents are invited to stop by and meet Masse.

Masse won the gold medal in the 100m women's 100m backstroke at the FINA World Swimming Championships in Budapest, Hungary this summer. She also broke a world record with her time in that race.

She also won a bronze medal in the 4X100m medley relay.

At the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil last summer, Masse won the bronze medal in women's 100m backstroke.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
