Amherstburg Hoping To Attract Hotel

The Town of Amherstburg is starting to develop a community improvement plan to attract new business to the town.

Mayor Aldo DiCarlo says the plan will help designate heritage building requirements, and set guidelines for the town moving forward.

"The biggest thing we're trying to accomplish through the CIP is the attraction of a major hotel in town," says DiCarlo.

The town approved hiring a firm to create the plan for the CIP for $50,000 at its meeting August 21.

The public engagement process for the CIP development will start shortly.

It's expected a draft plan will be available by October or November. The final plan will be up for approval around February 2018.
