High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

The pool at the Vollmer Complex is LaSalle will be closed from today until October for maintenance.
The extended closure will allow for repairs to the the air handling system, general cleaning and painting.
The town is keeping the outdoor pool open until September 26 for recreational swims and aqua fitness classes as long as weather allows.
Fall session swimming lessons will begin after the pool reopens in October. The sessions will begin the week of October 15, registration is now open.
The pool is scheduled to be reopened on October 9, 2017 for regular programming.
