Windsor Police Seek Hit-And-Run Driver

Windsor police would like to speak to a driver involved in a hit-and-run collision that sent a pedestrian to hospital with serious injuries.

An 18-year-old man is in critical condition at a local hospital after being struck by a vehicle on Drouillard Rd. during Tuesday's heavy rain storm.

Police say the young man was walking across Drouillard between Reginald St. and Alice St. shortly after 3pm, when he was struck by a vehicle travelling northbound. The force of the impact sent the victim flying through the air, and he landed a short distance away. The vehicle did not stop and continued to drive north on Drouillard.

The suspect vehicle is described as a grey or white four-door SUV sedan, possibly a Lexus. It will likely have damage to its front end.

Investigators also want to pinpoint the location of the vehicle, as well as talk to any witnesses who may not have spoken to them already.

The Windsor Police Service Patrol Support Unit is handling the incident. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call police at (519) 255-6700, ext. 4000. Tips can also be called anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-888-258-TIPS (8477) or online at www.catchcrooks.com.
