Months Long Gun, Drug Investigation Ends In Arrest

A Windsor man is facing numerous charges following a months long investigation by the Windsor Police Service Drug and Gun Unit.

The Windsor Police Service says on Thursday, officers executed a search warrant at a home on Reedmere Rd. near Riverside Dr. E, following a months long investigation.

As a result, a 46-year-old Windsor man was arrested without incident at a Wyandotte St. E home near Moy Ave. on Friday at around 5:45pm.

During the arrest, police seized a quantity of suspected cocaine, separate bundles of Canadian currency and a switchblade knife. Police also conducted a search at the home and seized items consistent with drug trafficking including suspected cutting agents, empty clear plastic baggies, numerous cell phones, and digital scales.

Police also seized the following:

  • 963 g of suspected cocaine
  • 162.7 g of suspected marijuana
  • 12 hydromorphone pills
  • Six morphine pills
  • A quantity of Canadian currency
  • Two loaded handguns and ammunition
The drugs have an estimated street value of $98,209.

The accused has been charged with two counts of possession of a firearm knowing it is unauthorized, three counts of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, and two counts of possession of marijuana, hydromorphone, and morphine for the purpose of trafficking.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
