City Resuming Recycling Pickup

Residents of Windsor will now get their recycling picked up. The city says collection is resuming this week.

Recycling will be picked based on the regular collection schedule found in the collection calendar mailed to all homes at the end of March. The calendar can also be found here.

The city expects there to be more to pick up since the entire city has missed a recycling pick-up. It has scheduled extra recycling trucks to help maintain the regular schedule.

The city is asking that recycling that does not fit in red or blue bins be placed in cardboard boxes. Recycling can also be placed in clear plastic bags but must be separated.

As for garbage collection, the city has completed one complete sweep of the city for flood damaged goods. As of Saturday close to 5,000 tonnes of flooding material had been collected. The city is now doing a second sweep of the hardest hit areas.
