Man Arrested Following Gunpoint Robbery

Two people are facing charges after an armed robbery at a house party over the weekend.

Police were called to a house on Bridge Ave. around 5:30am Sunday morning after getting a call from the 20-year-old victim.

The victim says he was leaving the party when he was threatened and robbed at gunpoint. He handed over his jewelry and fled the scene. He gave his report to police with a description of the suspect and the stolen jewelry.

Patrol officers found a person matching the suspect's description in a cab outside the house on Bridge Ave. He allegedly had a handgun and some of the stolen jewelry on him. A woman was also found in the cab and was allegedly in possession of some of the other stolen goods.

Both were arrested without incident.

The 25-year-old male suspect is charged with robbery with weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, pointing a firearm, possession of stolen property and breach of recognizance.

The 22-year-old female suspect was charged with possession of stolen property.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
