LaSalle Beer Fest Cancelled Due to Weather

The threat of bad weather has resulted in the cancellation of a local beer event.

The Town of LaSalle announced Saturday evening that the second night of the LaSalle Craft Beer Festival is being cancelled due to the threat of high winds and thunderstorms.

Environment Canada has issued a high wind warning for much of southern Ontario for tonight through Thanksgiving Monday.

The festival opened Friday night with large crowds sampling craft beers from all over Windsor-Essex, along with live music from local bands in a tent set up at the Vollmer Complex.

The town says those who purchased tickets for Saturday will get a refund.

The event's second day began Saturday as planned but after checking the weather forecast, organizers cancelled the remainder of Saturday night's events out of respect for the safety of visitors, vendors and volunteers.
