Man Charged With Arson

One man is facing arson charges and another is recovering from severe burns after a fire on Arthur Rd. in Windsor on Monday.

Windsor Fire and Rescue crews were called to a garage fire on Arthur Rd. near Seminole St. around 2:40am Monday morning.

At the same time, Windsor police were called to Milloy St. and Ellrose Ave. for an injured person. They found a 20-year-old with severe burn injuries to his arms and legs. A pair of shoes with a strong smell of gasoline was also found at the scene.

An investigation led police to an 18-year-old man found at a residence on Jos Janisse Ave. He had minor burn injuries and smelled like gasoline. He was arrested and charged with one count of arson.

The fire is under investigation by Windsor Police Arson Unit and the Ontario Fire Marshal's Office.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
