Police Charge Suspect After Elderly Woman Assaulted On City Trail

Police in Windsor has charged a 21-year-old man after a 75-year-old woman was beaten on the Ganatchio Trail Sunday morning.

Police charged the Windsor man with aggravated assault in what police describe as a random assault.

The woman was viciously attacked on the trail between Little River Rd. and Riverdale Ave. around 8am Sunday and remains in hospital with life threatening injuries.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
