UPDATE: Two Hurt in Amherstburg Crash

Two people have been injured in a Thanksgiving night crash in Amherstburg.

Amherstburg Fire says a vehicle hit a hydro pole at 7th Concession Rd and County Rd 18 shortly before 10:30pm Monday.

Fire officials say that the two injured people were treated by EMS on scene, but there's no word on whether they were transported to hospital.

The collision knocked hydro wires on the ground.  The area surrounding the intersection has been closed while investigation continues.

With the hydro pole down, Hydro One reports over 1,500 customers without power in an area stretching from Amherstburg, through Harrow and to Kingsville. The utility says they were expecting to have everyone back online by 1:30am Tuesday.
