Amherstburg Fire Battles Garage Blaze

Fire crews in Amherstburg battled a garage blaze Saturday.

The Amherstburg Fire Department says the fire broke out shortly before 7am on Simcoe St between Fryer St and Meloche Rd.

Firefighters were able to put the blaze out within an hour and keep it confined to the garage, which is attached to the home.

Fire officials say the cause may have been electrical, and damage is estimated at $50,000.
