UPDATE: Woman Critical After Early Morning Fire

Fire officials in Windsor say a woman was rushed to hospital after an early morning fire.

The woman has since been transferred to a Detroit hospital in critical condition.

The fire broke out around 5:30am Tuesday at a duplex on Church St. between Tecumseh Rd. W and Hanna St. W in Windsor.  The Windsor Fire and Rescue Services says it started in the kitchen of an upper unit in a duplex.  The fire investigation will continue on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, firefighters were also called to a fire at a small house on Cadillac St. between Alice and Milloy St. That started around a bed in one of the bedrooms and caused $150,000 damage.

The cause of the second fire is listed as undetermined, and no one was hurt.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
