UPDATE: House Fire Under Investigation

Fire officials are investigating after a fire broke out at a single family home in Windsor.

The Windsor Fire and Rescue Service reported that the blaze at 2191 Parent Ave., which started early Friday evening, was extinguished at around 5:50pm.  Fire officials say there was "heavy fire conditions" when firefighters arrived at the scene.

No one was home at the time of the fire and no one was injured.

Fire officials say the blaze started a deck in the backyard of the home, and caused an estimated $150,000 in damages. The neighbouring home at 2189 Parent Ave. also sustained $15,000 in exposure damage during the fire.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time but it is not believe to be suspicious, fire officials say.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
