Windsor Public Library Opens New Branch On Ypres Ave.

The Windsor Public Library is cutting the ribbon today on its newest branch on Ypres Ave.

The W.F. Chisholm Branch is named after Bill Chisholm, who made his mark in the auto industry traveling across the country as the national sales manager for Chrysler Canada in the 1950s and 60s. Chisholm later went on to become the owner of Rose City Ford in Windsor.

He retired in 1996, and the dealership went to his son, John.

The ribbon cutting is at 1:30pm Saturday at 1075 Ypres Ave. in Windsor.

The branch houses the Windsor Public Library's automotive archives, and the $2.4-million building was designed with the auto industry in mind.
