Conservation Authority Urges Safety Due To Strong Winds

The Essex Region Conservation Authority is issuing a safety warning ahead of strong winds that are expected on Tuesday.

The conservation authority says with wind gusts up to 80 km/h expected early Tuesday morning, there is a possibility of near shore breakwall damage and erosion, with wave overtopping and spray.

The west sides of Leamington, the Township of Pelew and Point Pelee National Park, as well as the Kingsville and the Town of Essex, could be the most significantly impacted.

Environment Canada has also issued a special weather statement, warning of heavy winds in Windsor-Essex.
