Windsor Man Hospitalized After Police Chase

A Windsor man has been hospitalized following a police chase Tuesday night.

Officers had encountered the 31-year-old man shortly before midnight in the Remington Park area. It turned out the man was wanted on several outstanding warrants.

The man ran away and a chase ensued. Officers caught up with the suspect soon after in the backyard of a home on Vanier St.

The suspect somehow suffered a hand injury and was taken to hospital for treatment.

With the injury occurring during a police chase, the Ontario Special Investigations Unit has been called in. The SIU is sending a team of three investigators to Windsor.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
